Today H.R. 1106 was passed. This bill takes taxpayers money, about 8 billion, and pays mortgages for those people that got themselves into mortgages they cannot pay for. Of course there is no help for the 96%+ that pay their mortgages on time. Feel like a sucker? I can understand helping people that have lost their jobs and cannot pay for their houses, but I have a problem with people that are not paying their mortgages and the government using taxpayer funds to bail them out. Perhaps it would have been better if the government had the banks refinance at say a 4% rate and let the homeowner pay even if the property is worth less than the mortgage. The day will come when property values start to increase and that will become a good mortgage. DAVID VOTED FOR THIS BILL.

Today the bills voted on were H.R.146 and H.R.548. Both passed and were for the preservation of the reveloutionary war and war of 1812 battlerfields, and the preservation of civil war battlefields to the tune of $550 million dollars. This is something, while the spending of money is of concern, needs to be done to save battlefields from development. Both Passed. DAVID VOTED FOR BOTH BILLS.
